Very soon the Argyle International Airport will become operational. We are ensuring that all the “Is” are dotted and the “Ts” crossed for its imminent opening. International and regional airlines will fly in and out. All relevant managerial, operational and procedural systems and personnel are either in place, or being put in place, for the take-off of the Argyle International Airport. The construction of this international airport has been an existential dream, come true. The largest capital project ever in the history of St. Vincent and the Grenadines was conceptualised, fashioned, and constructed in the most extraordinarily creative way; some say it has been a miracle. What all others thought was impossible to be done, the ULP made it happen, and gloriously so! In socio-economic terms the Argyle International Airport is potentially a game-changer. Only a ULP government possesses the capacity to make this airport work for the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines! The airport is not merely for now, it is central to our future development!
The Argyle International Airport means jobs and opportunity for our people. It will strengthen our tourism sector which, in turn, creates jobs and increases salaries in a variety of sectors. It will make travel to international and regional destinations much easier. It is an essential piece of infrastructure that is essential to our development as a nation The NDP opposed the airport at every opportunity. They failed to implement it during their tenure in government. They said it couldn’t happen. And, they opposed its funding. A re-elected ULP government will complete the job creating airport.
