Darron Rodan John

SOUTH WINDWARD

Darron Rodan John is the Unity Labour Party (ULP) candidate for South Windward. A respected Lecturer in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, Darron is recognised for his expertise in digital transformation, innovation, e-Government, and preparing our young people for a technology-driven future.

A proud son of Biabou, Darron embodies the ULP’s vision of transforming lives through education. He is a graduate of the St. Vincent Grammar School and the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College. He pursued higher education in Taiwan, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Information Engineering, as well as a Master’s degree in Information Management from the prestigious National Dong Hwa University. While there, he served as Vice President of the Vincentians in Taiwan Association, advocating for expanded scholarship opportunities and stronger national engagement.

While in Taiwan, Darron also demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit by launching his brand of pepper sauces, seasonings, and other condiments. He showcased these products at trade shows, proudly celebrating homegrown Vincentian practices abroad. His respect for farmers, backyard growers, and the cottage industry continues to shape his vision for South Windward. Darron actively encourages young people to engage in agriculture and entrepreneurship, recognising their critical role in advancing food security and tapping into the growing opportunities of the agritourism sector.

As one of our young scholars, Darron is also advancing his academic journey by pursuing a PhD in Business Administration with research focused on technology adoption in financial services and digital transformation, which are critical areas for modernising St. Vincent and the Grenadines. His work reflects his commitment to national development and to supporting Comrade Leader Dr. the Hon. Ralph Gonsalves in building out a stronger, more prosperous country. This work aligns with the second phase of the Education Revolution, one that will be powered by science, innovation, and advanced technology as the foundation for St. Vincent and the Grenadines, to attain first-world status.

Beyond academia, Darron has dedicated himself to community service, with a particular focus on sports, youth empowerment, and entrepreneurship. He is a former President of the Biabou Education and Sports Club and General Secretary of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Basketball Federation. A loyal and active member of the Unity Labour Party, Darron has long been part of both the constituency and national youth executive, canvassing tirelessly over the years in support of the ULP; the natural party of choice for young people and for Vincentians as a whole. Today, he continues his service as a member of the Prime Ministerial Advisory Council on Youth, ensuring that young people remain central to government policy and nation-building.

South Windward has warmly embraced Darron as its youngest candidate. Guided by his Christian faith and values of service, humility, and compassion, he is also an aspiring preacher in the Church of Christ. He is committed to serving village by village, empowering communities across the constituency. Above all, Darron is a devoted father, inspired daily by his son and family to work toward a brighter, more inclusive, and prosperous future for South Windward and for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
