Dominic Sutherland

Central Kingstown

Born on March 1, 1973 at Kingstown General Hospital to Trelford Douglas and Hyacinth Sutherland and grew up in Lower Kingstown Park, Paul’s Avenue, Level Garden. He attended the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic School, St. Vincent Boys’ Grammar School and received tertiary education from the CGA – Canada Distance Program.

Professionally, he served as a police officer attached to the criminal investigation department and then as an Accountant and Auditor for a number of private sector companies rising to the level of Managing Partner at Hinds & Wilson Chartered Accountants.

Mr. Sutherland sits on several boards reflective of his service to the community. This includes serving as Director of CGA Caribbean, Treasurer of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Swimming Association, Treasurer of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Volleyball Association, Chairman of the Housing and Land Development Corporation, Corporate Secretary for Valley Investments Limited and Financial Advisor for Windsor Primary School.

Mr. Sutherland is devoted to the constituency. From 2017 to 2019, he provided Christmas care packages for the needy. He hosted a Children’s Christmas Party in Lodge in December 2019. In 2019, he hosted the “Culture Sundaze” event – a weekly street fair and soca show. From August – September in 2018 and 2019, he held a National Heroes Month Football Challenge, sponsored floodlight football at Redemption Sharpes in September 2020. He sponsored Monah’s Academy Football Tournament at Redemption Sharpes in August 2019. He constructed a new bar and storage shed at the Redemption Sharpes playing field. And, he developed the Mckie’s Hill flower garden outside the Girl’s High School below the Haddon Hotel. He pays for the upkeep of the garden.

Mr. Sutherland supported the Redemption Sharpes Community Revival Services done by various churches in the constituency. He hosted the Aldith Walron Netball Tournament at the Green Hill Netball Court. And, in March 2020, he hosted the Kelly Williams Road Relay and Fund Day at the Green Hill Hardcourt.

Mr. Sutherland lives in Kingstown Park. He is a faithful Pentecostal and member of the Faith Word Ministries, Greiggs. He is married with two children and one step child, all grown. His hobbies include football, volleyball, music and singing.
