  • Become the smallest nation ever to be elected to the United Nations Security Council 
  • Become the first Caribbean country, and smallest nation ever, to be elected as president of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) 
  • Become the smallest nation ever to be elected to the presidency of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) 
  • Convened and hosted the critical summit between Guyana and Venezuela, and drafted the Argyle Declaration, which helped to ensure peace in our region 
  • Established formal diplomatic relations with a number of countries since being elected to office 
  • Secured 100% debt forgiveness from Venezuela [for Petrocaribe debt], saving the Vincentian taxpayers millions
  • Secured free and low-cost fertilizer from Morocco and Venezuela to support our farmers 
  • Secured the funding from the “Coalition of the Willing” to build the Argyle International Airport 
  • Provided opportunities for Vincentian students to obtain university degrees with scholarships from Cuba, Iran, Nigeria, Singapore, Taiwan, Turkiye, the United Kingdom, the United States and Venezuela – benefitting over thousands of students since 2001. 
  • Established full freedom of movement agreements with Barbados, Belize and Dominica, in accordance with the CARICOM Treaty of Chagauramas
